Entry Requirement for level 4 certificate in education and training:

  • Candidates need to be qualified, proficient or experienced in the area of specialism area they intend to teach.
  • They need to demonstrate that they can study at a Level 4.
  • Initial assessments in ICT, Numeracy and Literacy will be carried out to ascertain whether the candidate has the minimum expected requirement of proficiency.

Study Mode:

For full-time study, we expect students to commit to 10 hours of study a week, whereas with the part-time study option, you need to commit to at least 5 hours.

Study comprises the following:

  • Attending lessons (1-2 sessions a week).
  • Completing your teaching hours and observations (30 hours of experience, 6 observed teaching sessions).
  • Partaking in Continuous Professional Development (CPDs) (minimum 30 hours).
  • Independent reading and research.
  • Completing assignments using a variety of assessment methods.
  • Attending 1-to-1 support sessions for additional help and progress checks.
